THOSE WHO ARE WORTHY TO BE GRACED BY A KAI'S PRESENCE (chiefly me :3) SHALL KNOW OF OUR MIGHT, GRACE, INTELLIGENCE, SPEED, AND POWER. No, seriously though, if you have any questions about Kai just ask me. I know quite a bit about him since he is my main and only true character I've ever used

As a Kai you're gonna want to go for attack over defense. So, full Raider's or 3 piece Raider's 2 piece Apoc is what you'll want. Full Raider's has the same strength bonus as 3 RGL and 2 Raider's, so either set will give you the same output. 3 RGL and 2 Raider's would be a decent setup, if you want to go that route. I personally do 3 Raider's and 2 Apoc for the strength bonus/willpower bonus. I will eventually (once I can afford the ES's) slip back into full Raider's for the maximum attack output. I have yet to see any 3* or 4* RGL, so in the end full 3* Raider's (it's a bit pricey but from what I could tell so is RGL) is better for maximum attack output. If you are one of those kinds of people who worries a lot about defense (which, as a Kai, you shouldn't worry about defense at all) then the armor I would suggest would be Nighthawk/Apoc mix. If you are a Lann, I would go with the RGL/Raider's hybrid for it's slightly superior defense bonus (If you're wanting to go the light armor route as a Lann). Even if it isn't a considerably large difference, as a melee character it would be more important.
Thank you to Nystus for pointing out a very decent (previously unconsidered by me) light armor hybrid. I suggest if you are a Lann to use this, and if you are a Kai I still personally would do full Raider's (3*) or Raider's/Apoc hybrid.
